This high-end compact digital camera features a newly designed GR lens with a 40 mm field angle in 35 mm format, while harmonizing a professional level image quality with a compact and lightweight body perfect for street photography.
The RICOH GR IIIx has been developed in response to user requests for a new GR series camera that will add a new perspective to the acclaimed RICOH GR III. The GR III was released in March 2019, equipped with a 28 mm wide angle lens and designed to further improve the essential values of the GR series: image quality optimization, shutter and portability.
The RICOH GR IIIx incorporates a newly designed GR 26.1 mm F2,8 lens, which harmonizes an exceptional image quality with a thin design. Unlike the previous GR series models that presented a 28 mm wide angle for a broad perspective, this lens provides a standard field angle of 40 mm in size 35 mm, offering images with a more natural perspective and a more true sense of depth for a completely different type of street photography.
The new conception optic incorporates 2 aspherical optical elements into the most effective positions to minimize chromatic distortion and aberration, effectively minimizing the generation of flares and ghost images when snapping in the backlight. In macro photography, the camera allows the user to approach a subject up to 12 cm from the front end of the lens.
