Description

Light pollution is a recent and little-known concept: it identifies the dispersion, produced by outdoor lighting fixtures, of the upward luminous flux. The light thus emitted illuminates the dust particles present in the atmosphere, creating a luminous halo effect, preventing the vision of the celestial vault (stars, moon, planets). A Standard (UNI 10819) dates back to 1999 and deals with light pollution, paying particular attention to those areas where there are Astronomical Observatories. In recent years, institutions have adopted laws that regulate light pollution. In particular, the regional laws, even if different for each region, are all inspired by common principles: energy saving and limitation of the upward luminous flux. Always attentive to environmental issues, SOVIL has designed an accessory that can be applied to various items in this catalogue. This accessory allows the upward dispersion of the luminous flux to be limited, in compliance with the UNI 10819 standard for the prevention of light pollution.
