The α6400 brings many of Sony's most advanced technologies from their acclaimed full-frame line-up to a compact and lightweight APS-C camera.
The a6400 is in fact equipped with a new 24.2Mpixel CMOS sensor flanked by a new autofocus system with 425 phase and contrast detection covering about 84% of the sensor, able to recognize the subject in just 0.02 seconds, a feature that makes it the fastest focus system in the world. There is no shortage of the Eye-tracking badge in real time, able to recognize both the human eye and that of animals, to which the recognition of the subject is added thanks to an algorithm of artificial intelligence. The gust is equal to that of the a6500 and reaches the 11fps in RAW format. As for the ISO extension, it reaches up to 102400 ISO in extended mode, while it stops at 32000 in standard mode.
To allow all this the new BIONZ X image processor from Sony, which allows the a6400 to record videos up to 4k HDR up to 30 fps with full pixel reading. This means that the a6400 will be able to capture up to 2.4 times the data needed to process a 4K resolution video to allow you to have videos with amazing detail and sharpness.
Like most Sony mirrorless, the ability to record in S-Log2 and S-Log3, or desaturated color profiles, allows you to draw the maximum from the sensor. Finally it is also possible to record in Full HD up to 120 fps.
The screen is equipped with touch functionality, through which you can control the focus through simple touches. There is also an XGA OLED Tru-finder electronic viewfinder. The body is made of magnesium alloy with dust and moisture resistance.
